Overview: The most important archeological site of Meherpur district is the architectural monument of Amdah village located 4 km east-south of Meherpur town. The site, which is about one square kilometer in size, was surrounded by moats, but there was no wall around the moat. No trace of this site is now found. However, a monument recovered from the ground here has been placed in front of the old Deputy Commissioner's building.
