Overview: Many years ago, a municipal cemetery was set up near the Meherpur-Chuadanga road to bury the dead. Formerly the municipal cemetery was unprotected. After the wall disappeared in 1993, Mr. Md. Motachim Billah Matu, the Municipal Mayor, after decorating the seat of the Municipal Mayor, wrote Arabic and Bengali Quran and Hadith on the tiles and stones on the wall with the overall cooperation of the Municipal Council. Besides, he built ablution rooms and mosques in all the places of the cemetery with flower gardens.
